About on the IJsselmeer

On the IJsselmeer is part of a family of websites for renting holiday accommodations along the coast and in the woods of the Netherlands.

The Wadden island of Vlieland with the site onVlieland.com in 2000 was the birthplace of the opdeWadden.nl-sites. The other Waddenisland site you find at onTerschelling en onAmeland, onTexel and onSchiermonnikoog.

Since then, the sites are home to almost 2,400 accommodations and they attract more than 5 million visitors each year and handle over 50,000 reservation requests, (2013 figures).

Advertising medium

On the IJsselmeer is an advertising medium. The rental of holiday homes on the sites is mostly offered by the owners themselves. Sometimes the owner is assisted in this by a third party because the owner does not have the time or the required knowledge. Thus, you rent the accommodation directly from this third party/owner and not from us.

Locations

Most of the accommodations are on the Wadden islands: Texel, Vlieland, Terschelling, Ameland and Schiermonnikoog, as well as along the Wadden coast of the provinces of Groningen and Friesland and the Lauwersmeer national park.

However, we now have accommodations along the IJsselmeer, and the coasts of the provinces Noord and Zuid Holland and Zeeland. We even have a number that are not on the coast but lie inland in the woods in Drenthe and the Veluwe national park.
